Revitalize YOUR Life NOW!

WELCOME!

The compassionate Buddha put it succinctly: ‘All that you are is the result of what you have thought’.

Put another way, you are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.

Empowered self-directed living requires a certain amount of ‘flexibility’ in how we view events, the actions of others, and perhaps most importantly, what is possible for us in the future.

We are always in choice regarding how we ‘perceive’ events and opportunities.   For example, we can choose to see a ‘failed marriage or relationship’ mostly from the perspective of ‘poor choices’.

While this perspective is all too common, it is clearly not the most empowering perspective.

We can also choose to view the same relationship from a more empowering perspective of ‘meaningful learning’ and therefore be more open to positive relationship opportunities.

History is not etched in stone, but a matter of perspective.

If we choose to see a ‘failed marriage or relationship’ mostly from the perspective of our ‘poor choices’ then an almost endless barrage of negative self-judgments will tend to follow.

Negative self-judgments generally lead to low self-esteem, an overly pessimistic view of the future, and patterns of self-defeating thought and behavior that only serve to strengthen our negative self-judgments.

People can become trapped in such self-defeating cycles that often eventually lead to immobilizing despair.

If, on the other hand, we choose to see a ‘failed marriage or relationship’ mostly from a perspective of ‘meaningful learning’, then we are more in freedom to think, feel and behave in more adaptive and fulfilling ways.

The point is that how we choose to view anything, especially our own biographies, is open to interpretation and therefore a matter of choice and not ‘predetermined’.

So, if you are coming out of a less than fulfilling romantic relationship, I encourage you to ‘rewrite’ your relationship ‘history’ in a way that allows you to learn and move forward with faith, hope, and optimism.

I call this ‘compassionate biography’ and work with my Clients to help them gain constructive insights from their past by re-framing it in a positive light.
