WELCOME!
Today’s post is inspirational.
The following love sonnet is by the famous Nobel laureate, Pablo Neruda.
It is sourced from the book: 100 Love Sonnets, Published in 1986 by the University of Texas Press, in Austin, Texas.
It is one of my favorites and I wanted to share it with you.
LXXI (#71)
And now you’re mine. Rest with your dream in my dream.
Love and pain and work should all sleep, now.
The night turns on its invisible wheels,
and you are pure beside me as a sleeping amber.
No one else, Love, will sleep in my dreams. You will go, we will go together, over the waters of time.
No one else will travel through the shadows of time with me, only you, evergreen, ever sun, ever moon.
Your hands have already opened their delicate fists
and let their soft drifting signs drop away;
your eyes closed like two grey wings and I move
after, following the folding water you carry, that carries me away. The night, the world, the wind spin out their destiny.
Without you, I am your dream, only that, and that is all.
Well, what did this lovely romantic sonnet bring up in you?
For me, it reminded me of my one true love, and the treasure of my heart, my wife Julia.
Now I would like to share a model for transforming the passion of love into daily experience, where both partners feel fully loved and supported.
Model for Mutually Empowering Relationships
When the quality of the relationship is the top priority of both people in the relationship, then both parties do what it takes to keep the relationship healthy.
For me, “true love”, means that I will be true to the love in my heart for my beloved wife while fully honoring my own needs, desires, goals and so on.
I sincerely hope that you found this post inspiring and useful.
